FROM THE EDITOR: This month I set out to explore Northern California, particularly Healdsburg, Mendocino and Fort Bragg, before returning to Sonoma County by way of the unspoiled Anderson Valley. What I discovered were charming towns, exquisite restaurants and fine inns exemplifying sophisticated comfort.
