J.K. Place Debuts in Paris

Boutique townhouse hotels in Florence, Rome and Capri have made J.K. Place a favorite company of those drawn to small, exquisitely stylish Italian hideaways. Now the company has launched its first venture outside of Italy, J.K. Place Rive Gauche, on the Rue de Lille, in Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés, close to the Musée d’Orsay. Hidden away, the 29 rooms and suites are housed within a former embassy building.

The flamboyant and colorful interior is by the acclaimed architect and designer Michele Bönan. Oak-paneled public rooms, most with fireplaces, include a library, a bar and an Italian restaurant, Casa Tua, which has siblings in Miami and Aspen. The property also offers a fitness center, a Sisley spa and a subterranean pool. Those who prefer the intimate hotels of the Left Bank to the grand palace hotels on the opposite side of the Seine will now have a seductive new option.
