Our Quality Control Manager, Loretta, recently visited the picturesque destinations of Calgary, Vancouver and Lake Louise. She spent six days driving through quaint Canadian towns and snowcapped mountains surrounded by glass-like rivers. Loretta stopped along the way for stays at Kensington Riverside Inn, Post Hotel & Spa and Harper-recommended Wedgewood Hotel & Spa.
Find details and tips from her postcard-perfect travels below.
Calgary, Vancouver and Lake Louise
Insider Tip: Take your time and enjoy the drive from Calgary to Lake Louise with a stop in Canmore.
Overall impressions: I loved Canada. The drive was easy and filled with picturesque rivers, mountains – very little traffic to deal with!
Surprising fact: The national parks in Canada hire college students from all over the world to work at the stores, hotels and restaurants.
Where to eat and drink:
- The Outpost Pub at Post Hotel & Spa, Lake Louise
- The Chef's Table at Kensington Riverside Inn, Calgary

Neighborhood to explore: You should explore the Kensington area in Calgary as well as the downtown of Vancouver. Both are easy walking with interesting shops, restaurants and pubs.
Daytrip suggestion(s): While staying at the Post Hotel, we [visited] Lake Louise and had lunch at the Fairmont Lake Louise.
