Travel Office News: Eyjafjallajökull Strikes Back

April 4, 2010

Iceland's

Needless to say, the Harper Travel Office has been quite busy over the last 36 hours assisting roughly a dozen Harper members affected by the Icelandic volcano eruption. Travel and hotel arrangements have been rebooked, rerouted or canceled outright. Fortunately, we hear from Europe Team Leader Bonnie Minutillo that the hotels have been very understanding, either canceling with no penalty or promptly rescheduling. While the Travel Office has been making use of its airline computer system as much as possible, many flights have been put under regional airport control. Additional personnel will assist the consultants on call tomorrow. Thoughts and best wishes to all the stranded souls across Europe, and we refer you to Boston.Com's The Big Picture for more photographs of this remarkable (and unpronounceable) force of nature.
