Video: Castle Hot Springs

Castle Hot Springs is such a surprising place that it’s best conveyed with video. Thirty minutes down a dirt road into the inhospitable Arizona desert is a hot spring oasis. A classic Atlantic Coast-style yellow clubhouse sits amid a broad lime-green lawn, organic farm and groves of century-old palm trees. Past the luxurious bungalows is the spring, where people have soaked in its healing waters for thousands of years. The original resort was a favorite of East Coast elites, but the property has been closed from 1978 until this past year. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, which included a horseback ride through the surrounding desert.
