Whistler boasts the largest skiing terrain in North America (more than 7,000 acres) with 200 marked trails, plus another 100,000 acres of heli- and Sno-Cat backcountry skiing. Located about two hours  from downtown Vancouver, Whistler takes its name from the shrill chirp made by the local marmots.
