This private-island resort surrounded by dazzling white sand and the turquoise water of the Sulu Sea is an hour’s flight by private plane south of Manila. The 42 spacious indoor-outdoor twin-roofed casitas, all with wooden decks and hammocks, are located along the beach, within the rainforest canopy or on a hillside with panoramic sea views. The interior design is clean and elegant, with neutral tones, expanses of natural wood and local accents such as coconut-shell tables, pebble-washed walls and Cebu rattan chairs. The main restaurant features both Asian and Continental cuisine, while casual dining is available on an open-air deck at the Beach Club. During the high season, Nama restaurant, situated within the Lagoon Club on the eastern shore of the island, serves exceptional sushi, sashimi and other classic Japanese dishes. The property also encompasses a library, swimming pool and gym, plus four tennis courts, a Pilates studio and a hilltop spa. The scuba diving is exceptional, and PADI certification is available.
