Scale of 90-100
Classically elegant family-owned hotel dating from 1865, overlooking Lake Geneva a short stroll from the central shopping zone. Designed by British architect Leila Corbett Elwes, the 95 rooms, many with scenic lake views, are spacious and refined; individually decorated Historical Suites are recommended. New suites on the refurbished 5th and 6th floors include hammams, terraces with Jacuzzis and marble baths with separate tubs and showers. An atrium-style period lobby with an oval fountain and marble columns leads to a convivial piano bar, fine Thai restaurant decorated in silks and wood, and one-star Le Chat-Botté, overseen by chef Dominique Gauthier, for French cuisine with a contemporary flair. Well-stocked wine cellar and elegant Le Bar for cocktails. The hotel has a fitness center and offers cooking classes and wine tastings.
