Boath House

93 Editor Rating*
Scale of 90-100

Set amid 22 acres of lawns, gardens, woodlands and streams, this handsome family-run country house hotel occupies an 1825 Georgian mansion. The property’s nine beautifully appointed lodgings are filled with antique furniture, authentic Highland art, rich colors and unexpected details. Especially desirable are Rooms 3 and 4 in the back of the exquisitely renovated main house, offering picturesque lake views. Just steps from the main house, Meikle Cottage (Room 6) provides a cozy retreat with a comfortable living room and a small terrace, and the 400-year-old Apple Cottage (Room 9), built into a walled garden, is especially romantic. An inviting restaurant offers seasonally inspired menus, and the “garden-to-plate” Kale Yard café opened in late 2018.
