Ca' Sagredo Hotel
Scale of 90-100
Occupying a 15th-century palazzo, this ideally located boutique hotel overlooks the Grand Canal and the Rialto Market and is next to the Ca’ d’Oro vaporetto stop. Spectacular public spaces are adorned with works by important Venetian painters, including Pietro Longhi, and feature a grand marble staircase leading to the salons of the piano nobile. Traditionally styled Grand Canal Junior Suites include sitting areas with antique furniture, crystal chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows and silk curtains. With a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal, L’Alcova Restaurant serves classic Venetian cuisine, while the new Zac Patio is ideal for a casual lunch or an aperitif. Though the hotel lacks fitness facilities, culinary tours and Venetian rowing lessons are available.

Astonishingly grand and atmospheric public areas; pretty bar and Canal-side terrace.
Service in the restaurant and at reception can be slow and a little haphazard.
Good to Know
Because its location is 15 minutes from the Piazza San Marco, the area is less afflicted with hordes of cruise ship passengers.
