Set on a magnificent 6,100-acre beach-fringed private estate and working farm, this property rests on the southern tip of Corsica. The 20 restored 17th-century-style stone cottages accommodate two to 16 guests. All feature timbered ceilings, woodburning fireplaces, an imaginative mix of antiques and traditional furniture, fully equipped kitchens with stone sinks, wine cellars with selected Corsican wines and hypnotically beautiful views. Many are augmented by private pools. Two of the villas are set in a private beach cove. Dining options include La Grotte, carved from the inside of a huge boulder; La Ferme for Corsican cuisine; and La Plage, a terraced seaside restaurant-bar. Hiking, horseback riding, fishing and golf on the hotel’s own course designed by Kyle Phillips can be arranged. There is also a waterside spa with pine paths that lead to hydrotherapy cabins.
