The Goring

Editor Rating
Scale of 90-100

Located a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace in Westminster, this small hotel, run by the same family for four generations, has long been a favorite of the British royal family. The hotel’s classic English atmosphere is complemented by outstanding personal service, and its 69 rooms feature a traditional country house décor. Chef Richard Galli’s elegant Michelin-starred Dining Room, designed by David Linley, the Queen’s nephew, serves fine British cuisine that employs ingredients sourced from suppliers across the British Isles. Set in a pavilion, The Veranda offers delicious lunches and formal high tea, and the Goring Cocktail Bar, redesigned by idiosyncratic British designer Russell Sage, is a bright and lively space where evening entertainment by the hotel’s resident pianist is hosted. There is also a gym, but the crown jewel of the hotel is its glorious garden, one of the largest private gardens in London.
