Hacienda de San Rafael
Scale of 90-100
Amid a 350-acre working farm on the fertile Andalusian plains, this hospitable country inn owned by the Reid family is about 45 minutes south of Seville. The 11 duplex lodgings in restored barns are grouped around a cobbled, bougainvillea-filled garden courtyard of an 18th-century hacienda, and breakfast is served on verandas outside each bedroom. There are also three luxurious thatched casitas, each set in their own private garden area, that share an infinity swimming pool for casita guests only. In addition, one of the three new Pool Suites featuring two master bedrooms, antique Asian-influenced furnishings and a private garden with an infinity pool has recently opened. Public facilities include stylish lounges, a library, an indoor-outdoor Mediterranean restaurant and two alfresco bars. Amenities include a tennis court and three swimming pools; yoga sessions and in-room massages are available. This property is a tranquil and relaxing base for day trips to Seville and the famed sherry bodegas of Jerez.
