Delightful ryokan combining country charm with modern amenities, adjacent to the red Nakabashi Bridge. The 28 guest rooms have living rooms with low lacquered tables, tatami floors and shoji screens. Baths are rather small but provide handheld showers and square or semicircular soaking tubs. A second-floor restaurant serves multicourse feasts of regionally sourced, quality seasonal ingredients in individual tatami rooms. Indoor public bath on the first floor; also hot-spring baths for men and women. The inn provides a convenient base from which to tour the Miyagawa Morning Market, Takayama Jinya and the folk village Hida no Sato; bikes are available for rent.
