Although this remarkable ranch, a 30-minute drive from Park City, seems concerningly close to a major highway, its hilly terrain assures tranquility. The 46 accommodations include recommended Sky Suites in the main building, the equally appealing Earth Suites in lower-rise structures (request 11-17) and the independent Creek Houses. The latter do not have sweeping views; instead they face a shady stream and come equipped with fly-fishing rods. All accommodations have soothingly neutral color palettes, exposed-stone accent walls and extravagant baths. The excellent main restaurant has a terrace overlooking the lounger-lined infinity pool and sagebrush-covered hills beyond. A pretty spa has a second smaller pool. Elsewhere on the 3,500 acres of trail-laced grounds are world-class stables with pampered rescue horses, a sporting center for clay pigeon shooting and ax throwing, a panoramic yoga deck and a High West Distillery branch. Skiing and snowshoeing are available in winter. Service is consistently friendly and highly competent.
