Set amid 36 acres of gardens and woodlands, this Regency manor house owned by the Bowe family is 90 minutes south of Dublin. The foyer is dominated by a sweeping staircase and a double Waterford crystal chandelier, and the drawing room and stylish bar are adorned with Oriental rugs and period furniture. Of the 19 guest rooms, the gorgeously decorated State Rooms — notably Georgian, Stopford and Morland, with fireplaces and large marble baths — are especially recommended. A two-bedroom lodge with a kitchen is also available. Dining options include a gourmet French- and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant set in a flower-filled Victorian conservatory overlooking the gardens and The Duck for contemporary European cuisine. The grounds include fine walking trails and tennis courts.
