The Merrion

96 Editor Rating
Scale of 90-100

This gracious 142-room hotel (19 suites) occupies four beautifully restored 18th-century Georgian townhouses in a fashionable downtown district. Light and airy guest rooms, furnished with Irish fabrics and antiques, include comfortable armchairs and writing desks. Most rooms have views of the Parliament buildings or the hotel’s period gardens. Irish art adorns the elegantly appointed common areas, as well as gastronomic two-star Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud and The Garden Room, both of which serve modern Irish cuisine. Additionally, The Cellar Bar is set in the original wine vaults of the Main House, and an attractive garden terrace is available for summer dining, weather permitting. Other amenities include a health and fitness spa that includes a marble steam room, a gym and a 60-foot infinity pool. This is Dublin’s prestige address for discerning travelers.

Please be advised that the swimming pool and spa area will be closed for essential maintenance from February 1st until April 15th 2019.
