Housed within an impressive crenellated structure with mud-brick walls, this distinctive family-run hotel is set on a remote sandy ridge close to the village of Rohet. Fusing traditional Rajasthani architecture and furnishings with modern amenities, the nine guest suites are exceptionally spacious (each a minimum of 1,700 square feet) and feature private terraces or courtyards, Jacuzzis or plunge pools, inlaid furniture, bright local textiles and fabrics, original paintings and ornate fireplaces. Refined Indian meals, accompanied at dinner by folk musicians, are served poolside. Culinary workshops, spa treatments and bird-watching, horseback riding and guided Jeep excursions to nearby villages can be arranged. The property is closed from mid-May to mid-July.
