This property is a gracious and charming re-creation of an original Victorian mansion-style hotel, with wide verandas, a soaring mansard roof and 69 rooms and suites, all with sea views. Second-floor rooms with terraces are preferred, but all accommodations feature meticulously wrought moldings, paneled doors, thoughtfully executed lighting and a full complement of comfortable furniture. Food and drink options include the delicious COAST restaurant, which serves daily changing four- and five-course tasting menus in a traditional dining room with sea vistas (guests under the age of 8 are not permitted); the Living Room for afternoon tea; and a casual brasserie serving seasonally influenced bistro fare with a New England twist. The property encompasses an indoor saltwater pool, a spa, a gym and a gorgeous private beach with butler service. Sophisticated wine-tasting sessions, cooking classes, art lessons and movie screenings are hosted throughout the week and complimentary wellness classes are offered Wednesday through Sunday. Golf and tennis clubs are located nearby.
