This strikingly beautiful country hotel in a 19th-century mansion is located in the small town of Bernalda, 40 minutes south of Matera. Owned by Francis Ford Coppola, the property comprises nine individually decorated rooms, sumptuous sitting rooms, a screening room, beautiful walled gardens and a pool. Suite Four, designed by Jacques Grange in collaboration with Sofia Coppola, features a vaulted ceiling painted with a trellis pattern, tiled floors and a small private terrace. Dining options include Cinecittà Bar, a classic café and a pizzeria located on the ground level. Complimentary bicycles and a daily shuttle to the hotel’s private beach are available, as are yoga and Pilates instruction, cooking classes and in-room massages.
