This family-owned ecolodge on a 146-acre private island encompassing a mature coconut plantation is a 50-minute flight north of Port Vila. Thirteen 200-year-old Indonesian teak wood farmhouses offer private patios that face gardens and a semiprivate stretch of beach. Though all rooms lack A/C, exterior locks and Wi-Fi, most feature vaulted thatched roofs, canopy beds with mosquito netting, leather armchairs and baths with wood-floored showers connected to the rooms by a short walkway. There is also one villa with uninterrupted sea views and two beachfront tents that are more isolated from the rest of the resort. The less appealing Fish Village, comprising three villas, is ideal for families or larger groups. A main clubhouse comprises a chic lounge, a cinema and a seafood-oriented restaurant. There is also a small overwater spa. Fishing, snorkeling, mountain biking and horseback riding can be arranged. Swimming with horses is an activity unique to the island.
