This calm, aesthetically refined hotel is housed within two Ottoman mansions lovingly reconstructed by Uri Jeremias, one of Israel’s best-known chefs, whose renowned seafood restaurant, Uri Buri, is a five-minute walk away. Modern elevators ascend from a dignified stone-floored reception area to 12 rooms spread out on three levels, each of which has a common area and four rooms. Request a Grand Deluxe Room with a sea view or a Royal Suite, which, in addition to sea views, has exquisitely painted friezes and ceilings, marble floors and Turkish carpets. The property has magnificent salons and terraces that invite reading and relaxing, as well as a small spa with a 400-year-old Turkish bath. A lavish breakfast is served in a stone-walled dining room, and wine and cheese are offered each evening in an atmospheric cellar with sixth-century Byzantine columns and 12th-century Crusader walls. The hotel lacks an on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner.
