91 Editor Rating*
Scale of 90-100

Fly-in/fly-out sportfishing lodge founded in 1969 in the unspoiled lake region of Bristol Bay within the 1.5 million-acre Wood-Tikchik State Park. Fishing for salmon and trophy trout in wilderness areas accessed by four floatplanes and several dozen boats pre-positioned on remote rivers and lakes. Seven guest cabins facing Nuyukuk Lake and the Kilbuck Mountains feature private entrances, large picture windows and independent heat and hot water. Restaurant serves Pacific Northwest cuisine in a circular dining room with large windows that offer panoramic lake views; lounge area with stone fireplace; and woodburning sauna. Knowledgeable guides make this a top-notch operation. Closed mid-September to mid-June.
