This spectacular family-run property, perched on a limestone promontory overlooking the Gulf of Santa Manza, encompasses beautifully landscaped grounds, a heated pool and two beaches, one with mooring buoys and a pontoon. The 40 guest rooms feature cream color schemes, stone and wood detailing, private terraces or balconies, and maquis or sea views. Five glamorous villas are also available. Dining options include a main restaurant serving outstanding regional seafood specialties — order the locally landed, grilled langouste — plus a more informal beachside grill (open mid-June through mid-September). Activities including guided hikes, boat rentals, scuba diving, yoga classes and catamaran tours can be arranged. The property is closed every year from mid-October to the end of April.

The gorgeous setting; the excellent spa.
Service in the restaurant can be careless; the unreliable internet connectivity.
Housekeeping is understaffed (as it is at so many hotels nowadays), so the inconvenient 4 p.m. check-in time is hard to avoid.
Lowest Rate: Small Maquis Room, $350; Editor’s Choice: Seaview Junior Suite, $700.
