Scale of 90-100
Chic, modern 53-room boutique hotel, with exceptionally obliging staff, which occupies floors 18 through 25 of a tower (one of three, known collectively as Gothia Towers) opposite the city’s famous Liseberg amusement park. Downtown is a 30-minute walk or a brief taxi ride away. Striking open-plan public areas feature contemporary minimalist Swedish design. Deluxe Suites afford sensational panoramic views, modern furnishings, a subdued palette and spacious baths. Distinguished Michelin-starred restaurant on the 25th floor serves contemporary Swedish-European cuisine with locally harvested ingredients; tasting menus available with appropriate wine pairings. Luxurious three-story spa offers a variety of treatments, plus hammam, outdoor pool, two indoor pools and a large gym.

The panoramic views; friendly and efficient staff; exceptional spa; notable restaurant.
The modern décor and furnishings of my Deluxe Suite were subdued to the point of being gloomy.
