This gastronomic retreat in a tranquil setting on Lummi Island is a 10-minute ferry ride from the mainland, north of Seattle. Accommodations are both on-site and scattered around the island as far as a mile and a half from the main lounge and restaurant. Of the eight on-site options, Haven, which comes with a private deck and sitting area, is especially recommended. The five off-site lodgings, including the Beach House and Loganita Cabin, are in stylish, privately owned island homes rented by the inn. In-room amenities vary, but most offer private beach access and kitchens. Although service is limited, a prix fixe breakfast is offered and picnic lunches are available upon request. The property’s principal draw is chef Blaine Wetzel’s destination restaurant, which offers a creative prix fixe menu of at least 20 courses (with only one seating per night). There is also a hot tub, a bocce court and bikes for rent. The hotel is seasonally closed from November to April, and the restaurant is closed every Tuesday and Wednesday.
